Sibling Doula

Postpartum Doula

What Is a Sibling Doula?

Thoughtful, age-appropriate support to help children feel included, prepared, and secure as your family welcomes a new baby.

The arrival of a new baby is a major transition — not only for parents, but for siblings too. Sibling doula care focuses on supporting children emotionally and practically as they adjust to changes in family dynamics, routines, and attention.

A sibling doula provides non-medical, child-centered support before, during, and after the birth of a new baby. This care is designed to help siblings understand what’s happening, feel included in the process, and build confidence in their new role.

Sibling doulas work alongside parents to ensure children feel safe, seen, and supported — especially during times when parental attention is focused on birth or postpartum recovery.

OUR CARE PHILOSOPHY

Sibling Doula Care

Sibling doula care is rooted in respect, patience, and emotional awareness. We recognize that children experience birth and family changes in deeply personal ways, and all feelings — excitement, curiosity, worry, or uncertainty — are valid.

Our approach is gentle, trauma-informed, and child-led, meeting siblings where they are emotionally and developmentally. We aim to create a calm, supportive presence that helps children feel confident, included, and secure during this important transition.

This care is not about forcing excitement or “perfect” behavior — it’s about holding space for real emotions and building trust.
